Thank you, so very much.

I am more grateful than I could ever, ever express with mere words.

Thank you.

Profoundly stated. It’s people like you that make me proud to be an American. Thank you for your sacrifice in keeping the rest of us safe.

I am truly indebted.

Upside-down for a pirate attack, maybe.

For me, nothing says it like the Betsy Ross Flag.

Thanks to all for the idea about the Gadsden flag. I guess I haven’t been paying attention. I’m going to get me one of those.

Absolutely NOT! We do not disrespect our flag. I understand your concern but seriously, we simply must not allow ourselves to become as disrespectful as those on the left. Americans have fought, sacrificed and died for our great nation under that flag.

No way, no how would I hang old glory upside down.

“Nope, can’t help ya.
I shed my blood in a foreign country in defense of that flag.

I love it too much to use it as a tool of protest.

That’s the kind of crap that liberal fools have done and I refuse to be a part of it.

I’ll fly it and I’ll fly it proudly, but not upside down.

No offense intended.”

Well said, sir!! And thank you for your service!!

That’s like burning it. Too disrespectful and inciteful.

Don’t lower yourself to their level.

God sees all.

Can’t help you.

I will not disrespect the country and our troops and veterans because of who is in the White House.

Flying the flag upside down was disrespectful before President Obama took office. It is disrespectful now. If you do that, you only make yourself look petty and foolish.

The National Flag and Ensign of the United States is the most important symbol we have. It is second only to the Constitution in the life of our nation. It should never be used to make a partisan political point.

There is no “US Civilian Flag”. Certain groups are peddling the notion of a “US Civilian Flag”, but they are sadly mistaken.

The traditional Stars and Stripes has been our flag for both government and civilian uses since 1777.

The only other US Flag ever to exist was the Revenue Cutter Service Ensign, which has the honor of being the of being the only distinctive ensign ever issued by the US Government. It was flown (instead of the Stars and Stripes) from Revenue Service Cutters and from US Customs houses. It was designed to easily identify US Revenue Cutters as having the authority to stop and inspect shipping. It was used in the 19th century but fell out of distinctive use. It lives on in the US Coast Guard Ensign (sucessor to the Revenue Cutter Service). However, the USCG Ensign is no longer treated as a National ensign, but as a secondary ensign in addition to the Stars and Stripes.

The current US Flag is a multipurpose flag used by both the government and the people. US practice contrasts with other countries such as the United Kingdom. The UK has seven different flags (Royal Standard, Union Flag (national flag on land), White Ensign (Naval ensign), Red Ensign (civil and mercahnt ensign), Blue Ensign (Government ensign), Royal Air Force Ensign, and Civil Aviation Ensign (flown at airports)), to do what we now do with one combined Flag/Ensign.

When these gentlemen fly Old Glory upside down ... I'll think about it.
Wheather the current administration knows it or not ... we are still at war.

I am sure all those troops who died fighting for that flag really appreciate what you are doing.

What the he**are you talking about newbie? Flying the "Don't Tread on Me" flag in no way disrespects the military.

I would feel very wrong flying the Flag upside down.

OTOH, I also wish to protest the Fascist in the White House.

So I fly this American Flag:

I think it’s dangerous to fly the flag upside-down. It’s a legitimate request for help in an emergency. Playing with it this way could result in true emergencies being ignored. Better to get a Gadsden flag; people will “get it”.

NO! I didn’t like it when the libs did it and I won’t do it either. It’s disrespectful to the flag and it should only be flown upside down to signal distress ... and that should only be a last resort.
