She did that on AI this season. I hated it and I thought she sucked singing it. Or rather, screaming it.

Clay Aikin was as least a class act as he didn't flaunt his homosexuality as a badge of "honor" as most activists now-adays do. He "won" on the merits of his (debatable) talent and good-naturedness, his strong family/community ties, and a good makeover. Of course, it was rather obvious that he was homosexual, but that didn't come out until LONG after the contest.
Most homosexuals used to behave like this in society; keeping their personal proclivities to themselves and succeeding in society on the merits of their own abilities and hard work. I honestly didn't know Van Cliburne was a homosexual until a very few years ago.
