Honestly, I haven’t heard too much about German Shepherds attacking unless direct to by their owner.

I haven’t either but I wouldn’t trust a large dog around a toddler period.

I had a friend that had the most trusted GS I’d seen. Let my kids around him when the kids were small.
Well, one day the dog bit one of the neighbor kids. I lost my trust.

I’m sure the kid likely did something to rile the dog but kids will be kids.

I had a foxhound that any kids could pull, climb on, etc.

But he didn’t like one kid in the neighborhood. Saw him pulling off the kid’s shorts as the kid was trying to go over our fence.
I’m sure the kid had done something it the past.

It’s been my observation that dogs sense juveniles and allow them ‘liberties’ they wouldn’t tolerate from and adult. At least my family’s dogs do.

Pits don’t need much of an excuse to destroy the antagonist. And they are lethal.

Other breeds bite and stop. Pits kill.
And yes, I’ve lived around one .
