Then why is Adam called “son of God” in one of the lineages (Luke 3:38)?
Why, then, does every man bear God’s image?
Why is murder a capital offense precisely BECAUSE man carries God’s image?
And why then does 1 Jn 4:19 make it a point to say that He loved us first, why then does he say in Romans 5:8 say: “But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.”

Just because someone is one’s child doesn’t mean that the child cannot behave so horribly and disrespectfully as to
be disowned; to use a real-life example. {Not perfect, but the idea is there... except that we start off being horrible and hateful.}

Adoption is another social example that fits. We are adopted, bought, and brought into God’s family [the Church] by the blood of Jesus.

Those verses are speaking to the elect
