We had a Golden/German Shepherd mix, and we used to shave her in the summer. But we did it so she wouldn't shed all over the place because in the summer she was an indoor dog, enjoying the air conditioning.
My daughters used to nag me into leaving a little tuft of hair at the end her tail so she’d look like a lion.
