At the Guns and Ammo Warehouse they are reluctant to admit Barack Obama is right about very much. But customers enjoy the thought that his controversial campaign comment, that "bitter" small-town Americans are clinging to their guns, has proved more true than the president could have imagined. Firearms sales have surged in the six months since Obama's election as millions of Americans have gone on a buying spree that has stripped gun shops in some parts of the country almost bare of assault weapons and led to a national ammunition shortage. The FBI says that since November more than seven million people applied for criminal background checks in order to buy weapons, a figure excluding the many more buying at thousands of gun shows in states such as Virginia, without facing any checks. Gun-shop owners and the National Rifle Association say the surge is driven by worries that Obama is planning to ban many types of firearms and that the deepening economic crisis will fuel a crime wave, as witnessed by the string of mass shootings in the past few weeks.

Vote “No Confidence” in your Government... Buy A Gun!
After the Maersk Alabama piracy affair it has been suggested that US ship crews be trained in the use of firearms in order to protect the ship.
The same argument applies to the law-abiding, tax-paying US citizens—they too have the right to protect themselves against domestic piracy.
Just as merchant ships cannot always depend on the protection of naval vessels, neither can law-abiding citizens depend on the timely protection of law enforcement agencies. The whole idea of disarming all citizens should be repulsive to all lawmakers, whether democrat or republican.
It's a Saiga 12, basically an AK-47 chambered for 12 gauge. 12 round box or 20 round drum magazine.
I want one!
Amen Brother!
Yes, and along with buying guns, I think it would be a good idea for pro-gun folks to help fight gun control by joining the NRA --- and they are still offering one year free membership at http://www.nrahq.org/nrabonus/.
yesterday's paper had a AP article about the spate of recent mass shootings. The headline stated all but one of the shooters had a "permit", implying he was a concealed carry holder. But the article just stated that the shooters were legally entitled to fire the guns, which means they hadn't lost their rights via felony conviction or some such.
They’re not hard to find. If they don’t have one in stock, your local gun shop should be able to order one fairly quickly. Mid 600’s in price.
Pardon my ignorance but can you shoot slugs with that thing and if so what’s the range?
Yes. It has a 19” smooth barrel with no choke. A standard 12 gauge rifled slug has an effective range of about 75-90 meters. Muzzle energy is about 1200 ft-pounds. Saboted slugs maybe more.
Being gas-operated it has very little recoil, like an AK. I haven’t shot mine yet, having bought it less than a week ago. The action is identical to an AK in all respects except size.
