He who is without sin

Well, everyone knows born-agains are without sin. It's the rest of us who need to be straightened out.

Cast away, there.

"I know it didn't change his life......ie drunk driving, his drunken rant and adultery......sorry, it's the truth."

How can you make statements like this? Do you know the man? Do you know his wife? Unless you do, you have no business in making statements like this and then labeling them "TRUTH"

Label it for what it is "Your Opinion"....Nothing more!

Look, FRiend, I don't mean to jump on you but the speed in which people are jumping on this guy just enrages me because it is IGNORANT!

For the record, I do know how a Christian man should behave......I am saying behavior like that does not indicate the man has become a Christian.....just because he made an excellent movie, it did not change his life. Argue all you want, but it is what it is. And I do know people who had life changing religious experiences.....they do not commit adultery. If you want to berate me for my observations and comments flame away.

First of all you do not know his behavior. If we here at FR have learned anything over the yrs it is that the MSM will lie. And lie especially about the behavior of a person they do not like. And they do not like Mel Gibson.

Second, a man can be a Christian and still sin. Sin is what makes us human. Redemption is what makes us Christians.

It may make you feel superior to condemn a fallen man, but it reflects very poorly on you Christian duty to love your neighbor as yourself.

well, well.......aren't you judgmental? Jesus will judge him, I am commenting on his behavior...you know...like in the ten commandments, like when Jesus spoke to the woman at the well.....adultery is a behavior that is not in line with Christianity. Does it happen, sure. We are all fallen.....I commented that the movie didn't change his life...he still behaves like a Hollywood movie star, not a Christian. As for praying for others? Boy, from that comment you have decided I do not pray for others? or I do not love my fellow man? LOL you are taking a thread on adultery and divorce and my comments way too seriously. keep it up...flame away...now are you the kettle or the pot?

Well, everyone can think what they wish. The private agonies of a failing marriage are not something I care to comment on.

This is painful for all in that family. I am not a perfect person, Lord knows. I will refrain from comment, but put them all in my prayers.

Guilty as charged. I assumed you were serious because you were making serious assumptions about Mel Gibson's behavior and his Witness as a Christian. And you based your condemnation of the man on these assumptions. However, if you were not really serious than I apologize for not seeing the un-seriousness in your comments.

Next time you want to throw condemnations at a man you only know through the filter of the lying media remember this thread. As much as you may wish it to be otherwise, life is a complicated, messy affair. And we all face are own demons. And I suspect that Mr. Gibson is facing his as best he can. It's why we needed the Savior in the first place. Is it not?

having a serious, or otherwise, discussion on adultery and a true conversion? these are the things of life....while Mel made an awesome movie on the life of Jesus Christ, he failed to change his behavior (yes, this is assuming the allegations to be true).....yet I never condemned him to hell, that is the perogative of Jesus Himself......I can merely observe the behaviors that are contrary to eternal life....we can all learn or not from them....forgiveness is expected of Christians as well...so lets all forgive and forget.

and if we waited for the “truth” to magically appear on an FR thread we might wait a long time......we can only comment on the news as it is presented to be.

as any good Christian, and FReeper, I wish Mel finds his Savior and earns eternal life.....as I do all of mankind.

;^)

Well said. I believe you are sincere. We are much more in agreement than not.

Let us then end this discussion on that positive note...may he find his way back to the Truth and Light. And prayers for his wife as well.

While I pray for them, for the healing power of Christ in their lives, I cannot help feeling a tiny little sinful quirk that says, “MEL IS SINGLE AGAIN!!!!!”

Sorry. (blush)

Mel Gibson was hounded and hated by the Holywood Establishment because of “The Passion of the Christ.” Apparently, you approve.

I have no problem with “The Passion of the Christ.”

However, I do have a problem with people who drive drunk and who say "F*****g Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.

And apparently you approve of both actions.

“And apparently you approve of both actions.”

So, although he was very drunk, and his judgment was so impaired by the drink that he was doing something so foolish as driving drunk, you insist that these remarks must indicate his true feelings with accuracy?

Is that fair? Couldn’t it be at least possible that when sober he was ashamed of what he had said, and that upon sober reflection he doesn’t believe it at all?

You are funny tioga, you judge Mel Gibson and then accuse mick of being judgemental because he calls you on it. This is the very tactic that liberals use to try to win arguments, accuse the other person of what they are doing. Mick merely pointed out that to smear Gibson when you in fact have no personal knowledge of what he does is wrong, and it is. It certainly isn't Christian, not according to Christs teachings at any rate. Have a nice day.

Um, he blew a .12 BAC.

.12 is drunk, but its "You know Bob, I always thought your wife was hot." drunk, not foaming at the mouth bat&$%* crazy ranting drunk.  Not even close. I like Mel and really think that this was a very regretable incident that I'm sure he sincerely regrets.  Assume an undiagnosed psychotic disorder if you need an excuse, but lets not pretend that he was more drunk than he was.

I feel very sorry for them and their family but I’m especially sorry for the wife. She’s been through a lot during their years together, his drinking was a problem before that he was open about. They seemed to be rock strong in their marriage and working things out together but sometimes you can only take so much and she must have just reached the end of her rope. I wonder if the recent pics were the last straw for her.

Yes, Mel was very drunk and he drove.

That action on his part was illegal and put innocent people’s lives at risk.

That action, makes Mel a criminal.

And when Mel was drunk, he said that all the wars in the world are the fault of the Jewish People.

Now, while I cannot crawl into Mel’s head, I do know that alcohol does not make one become a person with different world views. Rather, alcohol simply helps people lose their inhibitions.

Thus, simply because Sober Mel does not publicly say that the Jews cause all the wars, does not mean that he does not think that. Instead, when he gets a few drinks in him, he spouts his anti-Semitic Vile.

And those together make Mel a Criminal and an anti-Semitic pig.
