An El Dorado teen who allegedly allowed his pit bulldog to attack a guide dog for the blind was arrested this week, more than a month after the incident occurred and after the owner of the guide dog took several steps to seek recompense. Sophia Howard brought her case before the El Dorado City Council on Thursday, asking if the city could enact tougher ordinances against aggressive dogs that attack service dogs and provide victims in such cases a way to take swift action against offenders. With her trusted yellow Labrador retriever, Cody, by her side, Howard, who is almost completely blind, detailed the steps she has taken to try and get justice for the March 7 attack, including contacting police, Mayor Mike Dumas, and the 13th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorneys Office.
