Perry and Cabrera lead Masters after third round

(CNN) -- Former U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera and American veteran Kenny Perry share the lead going into the final round of the U.S. Masters after the traditional "moving day" at Augusta National failed to throw up any significant challenges from the chasing pack.

Argentina's Cabrera carded a 69 with joint overnight leader Perry, recording a 70 to join him in the clubhouse on 11 under 205.

Chad Campbell, the halfway leader with fellow Ryder Cup player Perry, is two shots behind after a 72 with the world's top two players Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson seven shots adrift on four under in a tie for 10th.

Pre-tournament favorite Woods barely recovered from a double bogey on his first hole after finding the trees and admitted to being "out of sorts" on his way to a 70.

"Today's as hard as I have ever fought," he told BBC Sport. "It was tough out there. I got off to a terrible start but I fought back and got myself back in it. Overall I wasn't quite comfortable and hopefully tomorrow I will have it. At least I'm in a position if I play a good round I'll be right there."

Two-time Masters champion Mickelson also struggled to mount a sustained challenge with a 71.

Watch for Tim Clark to plod along into close contention for the lead. Whomever gets lucky at -4 or -5 with the putter Sunday will be the winner. Clark’s long shaft flat stick can get very steady in a hurry.

Angel Cabrera has been there before and won (2007 US Open) and he held off Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk, so he has proven that he can handle pressure. He’s also one of the longest hitters on the tour.

Kenny Perry is one of the hottest players on tour right now, as is Chad Campbell.

Should be a good Sunday finale. I’m gonna go to early mass so I can get 9 holes in myself before the coverage starts.

Would be nice to see Perry win. But Tiger loves a fourth-round challenge and often comes from behind to win.

I don’t think Tiger is quite ready in his return to win one like this yet. He is pulling his short irons a bit and not putting well. Out of the fifty who made the cut, he was 46th in putting.

This will be icing on the cake for Perry. After the Ryder Cup, he stated that his career is done and accomplished. Looks like he’s got great karma based on his scores.

I used to spend hours on the range practicing my swing to get it groved. Watching Perry and Furyk is almost painful, but they get results. Being able to repeat the effective swing is what it’s all about.

I’m guessing Tim Clark will either win or be in a playoff for the win.

Perry only has 4 bogeys this week. If that’s painful, I want his pain.

I can usually tell from a distance, who is swinging the club, or putting. Since Tiger came back I recognize his swing but he looks totally different putting. He doesn’t look comfortable, to me. He stands closer to the ball and is more hunched over or something. I don’t know, I don’t get to watch a lot. His swing looks very good but his putting is not the same.

I waqs watching the birdie putts Kim ran in for his eleven birdies round. He made a lot of putts from the eight to twelve foot range. He will not be able to do that where the final round pin placements will be because he will not be getting that close to the holes unless they soak the greens mid-day or it is drizzling.

Tim Clark will probably need to shoot at least a 68 tomorrow for that to happen. I don’t think Cabrera, Campbell, Perry, & Furyk will all shoot over par tomorrow.

Kin had 11, right?. Kim is in the same boat as Furyk. Furyk is known as a grinder and it shows on his scores. Kim is thought to be using the same putter since the Accenture so this doesn;t surprise me.

Without windy conditions, I would not expect it either. Cabrera wants it. He’s a big guy and has been under pressure before with success. It would be nice to see him win it, if for no other reason than he is a nice guy and his story is so interesting. If Furyk can control his yips, he could make a run and win this thing.
