Unfortunately this is probably far from over. The LEO’s would have submitted a full report to the prosecutors office for a charging decision.
I was a cop for 30 years, ret detective Sergeant.. and after being satisfied that I could articulate that the SEAL was no longer a threat to anyone, I would not have taken this man into custody, nor treated him like a suspect in any way, nor issued any citations. And, I would have done anything legally possible to prevent any future charging. Heck, I might have failed to advise him of his right and screwed the case up right then and there. ;>)
As a citizen, I would have done everything I could have to kill those worthless bastards, it would have been in self defense while I was in fear of my life.
Relax, I have been retired for over 7 years.... ;>)
Well, I kinda assume these punks got roughed up a little. After all they had firearms in their car and they committed crimes with them, correct? I think they even threatened the seal as they were being arrested. That right there might be a crime all by itself.
You and I both know that the seal could’ve shot those punks to death when he found his dead dog and no one would’ve questioned him over it. The fact that he didn’t proves to me he’s honest and law abiding. He was very cooperative with the law enforcement. He remained calm.
That’s why I think a speeding ticket is sufficient.
But let’s keep in mind that we are talking about a dog here. Not a human.
