Stevie Nicks on Lindsay Lohan Playing Her in Film: "Over My Dead Body"
US Magazine ^ | Thursday April 9, 2009

Newly single Lindsay Lohan may not want to get too psyched about playing Stevie Nicks on the big screen.

In an interview published Thursday, The New York Times asked the 60-year-old Fleetwood Mac singer -- who battled a drug and alcohol addiction -- about reports that Lohan, 22, wants to buy the rights to Nicks' life story and play her on film.

Look back at memorable celebrity meltdowns

"Over my dead body," Nicks snapped. "She needs to stop doing drugs and get a grip. Then maybe we'll talk."

In the new issue of Us Weekly, Lohan -- who is currently serving a three-year probation term for her second DUI incident -- insists, "I got in trouble, but that's in my past and that was a long time ago."

In an exclusive chat with Us Weekly Lohan also opens up about her split from Samantha Ronson.

"It's absolute hell," she tells Us in a far-ranging interview over several lengthy phone calls and emails where she was agitated, crying and baffled by the turn of events.

For more on Lohan -- including what she has to say about her rumored affair with Chace Crawford, why friends think she should be institutionalized and just how broke she really is -- pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands today.

So a girl named Lindsay is attracted to a girl named Stevie but not a guy named Lindsey?

I just saw Fleetwood Mac on their most recent tour at the. Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.

She was very good overall...no teleprompter. Mick Fleetwood was great; but Lindsay Buckingham was absolutely amazing on guitar.

Great show; I hope I am in as good as shape Stevie Nicks when I am 60.

I think she was 26 years old when that photo was taken. Stevie was born in ‘48.

Wait. Shouldn’t you be washed up and washed out on drugs for this role?

I saw her recently in a concert performance shown on PBS. She’s still pretty amazing, and her voice is still mighty fine. And she looks great for 60 or 61. She has always been a fine performer.

Without Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, we'd never even heard of Fleetwood Mac.

Mic Fleetwood married Jenny Boyd sister of Pattie Boyd.

Click on the names of these two girls to see how many songs were written about them and by whom.

You'll be suprised

She does a lot of visits to wounded military in hospitals under the radar. Passes out IPODs, etc; sits and talks. A GOOD woman.

I just took a look at my copy of the Buckingham Nicks album. I remembered the dedication, which reads “To A. J. Nicks, the grandfather of country music”.

Does anyone know if this is accurate? I’m not doubting Stevie, but I just don’t know enough about country music history.

Regardless, these two certainly left their mark on the music world. Great songwriters and performers!

"album"

I remember seeing that album in the record stores but not buying it. I later became a huge F-Mac fan. Was there anything on that album worth listening to?
