INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman died after a swordfight involving two men at a home on Indianapolis' far-northwest side early Thursday morning.
Indianapolis police Sgt. Matt Mount said an older man and younger man were involved in an argument at a home in the 5200 block of Raceway Road at about 1 a.m.
One of the men grabbed a sword during the dispute, prompting the other man to also brandish a sword.
The woman stepped between the men and was stabbed. She later died.
All three people were taken to a hospital with injuries.
It was not immediately known if the woman's death was a result of stab wounds or a possible heart attack, police said.

>> Foolish to get between two swords without a pen.
That’s clever. Tag line material.
It’s just a flesh wound......
There can be only one.
Have a sword.
My wife and I were just commenting after watching the news that the violence has really jumped in the last year up there. As long as it stays there and doesn’t come south we will keep going to Bloomington for city stuff.
Columbus/Edinburg mall is worth the drive for shopping. Pretty drive through the country this time of the year, and the shops are more compact than Bloomington. Park the car once not drive all over town.
Columbus has Kohls, Hobby Lobby, a large Target etc all resonably close to the mall (take 31 South). Sam’s is next to the Interstate @ Brown County exit.
OTOH Bloomington has more interesting restaurants.
Two pens, actually.
It’a all yours......no fee.
I was involved in a shoving match that was quickly escalating not too long ago. My wife was trying to stop it and walked up behind me and grabbed my arms. Bad form. It left me open to a punch in the face. I explained to her that she should not try to help me anymore unless she is trying to get me killed.
Knife control - swords are part of the "knife" family...
If you doubt taking away bread and butter knives from private citizens will stop two foolish drunks from killing a woman in a sword fight, join the NKA - National Knife Association.
“Why, is sword fighting that serious a threat there?”
Not yet!
Agreed! Columbus and Bloomington are much safer than Indy. The wife and I like to go to the Flower & Patio Shows, but it’s right on 38th street. We’ve just skipped there the last number of years.
It was not immediately known if the woman’s death was a result of stab wounds or a possible heart attack, police said.
I’ll go with death as a result of stab wounds for $500, Alex.
ok where are all the sword control advocates...??....let me be the first to say that congress should address this issue immediatly and require all swords to be registered....
That was really stupid of her.
We’ve been going to the one in Louisville, at the fairgrounds on I 65 S. Just as good as Indy’s if not better and easier to get to.
