Since most dogs can hold it for some 8 hrs, I’d assume it wouldn’t generally be an issue.

And submarines are far different from personal boats.

I hadn’t considered that. On the other hand, this dog was within sight of land — 5 miles. That’s a much more “do-able” swim if the dog has positive bouyancy.

I’m assuming that the suit is relatively streamline & doesn’t impair the dog’s natural swimming ability. These kinds of suits are readily available.
