The TPC on the other hand is a championship of something. Sure, but it's not a major. The Masters is. All you have to do is look at the list of past champions, not to mention how the players feels about it.

Ah the modern liberal view. Like they took a survey of players originally to declare the Open Champions, the US Open, the British Amateur and US Amateur the majors? What the players think, what the big intellects that have spent their entire lives hitting little white balls think, if they do, is irrelevant. The public and the to some extent the press reflecting the public determined the majors. The only way the players have had any input is through the exemption given on the tour.
