Unfortunately, I was raised eating the best cornbread on the planet, lovingly made by momma with meal my dad ground from his own secret strain of field corn.
Alas it is a lost pleasure. My sister comes close though.

Find some unground corn run it through a food processor. That will come closer to your memories. Oh and use it IMMEDIATELY.

awhhh man If you were anywhere near GA, I would advise you to come get some of our cornmeal. We get milled every year... mmmm.... You should try to see if you can find any in Miss. (just make sure to get out the rocks) The food looks good though!
