Yes. Do they mean colon cancer? Anyway, sad.
No, entirely different cancer.
Anal Cancer
Anal cancer is a rare type of cancer. The anus is where stool leaves your body when you go to the bathroom. It is made up of your outer layers of skin and the end of your large intestine. Anal cancer is a disease in which cancer cells form in the tissues of the anus.
Symptoms include bleeding, pain or lumps in the anal area. Anal itching and discharge can also be signs of anal cancer. Possible treatments include radiation, chemotherapy and surgery. Your treatment will depend whether the tumor has spread, and on the type, size and location of the tumor.
No. Colon cancer is completely different from anal cancer. Colon cancer is, as you can guess, inside the colon. Anal cancer is within the anus or rectum.

Very sad indeed — Farrah is an icon of the seventies — how many males had that red swimsuit poster of her on their walls back in the day, eh?
As for her cancer, it’s rarer than typical colon cancer, but seems to be even more difficult to get rid of — I’m sorry to say it does not look good for her despite a couple of reports that she is doing great.
My relative, a 50 year old when she died, had all sorts of treatments similar to Farrah’s, but they were for appendiceal/colon cancer that metastasized and she lasted just under three years. She was in and out of the hospital for several months before going home with hospice care.
I sure hope Farrah beats this, but I fear the worst.
