But isn’t that the point? They’re still making 007’s but they are not anywhere near what they were w/Connery. No one has been able to replicate that Bond. No one would be able to replicate this Bauer.

You’re correct the original 24 and the original 007 are the best. I did not say they weren’t.

The question was simply would anyone watch “24” without Jack Bauer?....

And the answer is yes, they may not have the following or the viewer satisfaction of the past but as long as they sell and have the possibility of making money they will be produced and watched until they no longer draw a crowd.

The 3 Stooges had many combinations:

(from Wikipedia.com)
1. Moe Howard and Ted Healy 1922–1923
2. Moe Howard, Ted Healy, and Shemp Howard 1923
3. Moe Howard, Ted Healy, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard 1923–1932
4. Moe Howard, Ted Healy, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard 1932–1934
5. Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard 1934–1947
6. Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Shemp Howard 1947–1956
7. Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Joe Besser 1957–1959
8. Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Joe DeRita 1958–1975
9. Moe Howard, Emil Sitka, and Curly Joe DeRita 1975

I personally liked combination 5 but I watched combinations 5-8 not thrilled with it, but watched.

Ironic, given that Connery only got a shot because Moore was contractually tied up with “The Saint.” A lot of people hated Moore, but he was Fleming’s first choice. I personally liked Timothy Dalton’s harder edge in the role. Go figure.

Totally disagree. To me, Daniel Craig is almost as good as Connery, and in some ways better. For example, he fits the bill of a cold-blooded killer more than Connery, which is what I expect these guys to be. He is also “craggier,” looks more like he’s been through some stuff, not as “pretty” as Connery. Right now, it’s 50/50, but I could see him surpassing Connery.
