Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is firing back at her grandson's teenaged father, Levi Johnston, for comments he made on TV about the circumstances surrounding his son's conception.
On an episode of "The Tyra Banks Show" to air Monday, Johnston, 18, claims that Gov. Palin did not think that he and her daughter Bristol were being abstinent when they were together.
"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show," Palin's rep tells People.com. "We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship."

Did you even read the article? It was a SPOKESWOMAN making these statments, and they were pretty much the same as your suggestion.
I feel like vomiting.
I agree. Pubbies are always taking the high road, turning the other cheek. The left always smacks back, quick and hard. Go Sarah, go!
Too bad. She's a brilliant woman and stands to have a stellar political career. President won't figure in it, though.
That's certainly in the realm of possibility. Palin only increases the books value every time she responds to the kid.
The next round of headlines will be...
SARAH PALIN ATTACKS GRANDCHILD'S FATHER.
That headline doesn't exist and the impetus to get Levi's reaction doesn't exist if Palin issues a "No Comment" statement. It's called managing the news cycle in the PR biz.
Hey, I loved Jim Rockford when he lived in a trailer—no apologies needed for having lived in the original ‘green’ housing!
My bad. I read the article quickly, but looked at the photo of Sarah and made the incorrect assumption that it was her talking. IMO, the statement was still too long.
You can't have been that much of an "vocal supporter" of her.
I heard a Dem pol in Alaska was advising the Johnsons.
Wow, these Obama brownshirts are ruthless.
Remember when they got a judge open the divorce papers of the R that ran against Hussein?
And since they have Hollywood and the MSM in their pocket, the direct all the PR.
Amazing really that we have let them get away with it all these years.
Taking the “high road”, and then bragging about it is getting old and unseemly.
Good grief, no wonder they laugh at us all the way into office.
LOL. Get a grip. She's a politician, not a rock star, and not God, either.
If conservatives can't even let other conservatives criticize politicians without being branded "haters," what hope is there for the First Amendment or any sort of liberty in this country?
THEY WORK FOR US, PEOPLE, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. Try to understand that, or you're well on your way toward the same idolatry that has infected the Democrats so completely.
“I’m so disappointed in Levi’s fabrications. Other than that, no comment.”
..but my husband has a mind of his own Levi...
But it sounds to me like ET is paraphrasing.
Just keeps getting better.
This is some strange for of "political criticism".
This used to be sage advice. But unfortunately in today's day and age, no longer operative.
The record must be set straight ASAP and you must be proactive.
Lessons learned from the Bush presidency according to Karl Rove.
You can’t really blame a kid for seeking his own fame when they put him up on stage while Palin was campaigning.
Levi has the look of someone that had just been scrubbed down, given a haircut, a shave and new clothes.
And he had that deer in the headlights look of "Oh crap, how did I get myself into this mess?"
I don’t think she did play hardball. I think she showed that she’s willing to. Maybe it will make this kid’s family think twice about how far they’re willing to take this.
Besides, Palin responding doesn’t keep this in the news. The drive-by’s were going to give this trash family as much airtime as they wanted regardless.
Spare me the lecture about treating her like a rock star. I’m not the one posting hateful things about someone as though she is just a character on a television show.
