If you have time, read the Declaration of Independence and compare it today.

It is amazing the similarities.

I have, and you are right. The charges against the King seem more relevant than ever, especially since we are saddled with 'the one who would be King'. But in reality, the situation did not just spring up overnight. The erosion of our liberty has been framed in slogans and presented in terms which have been palatable excuses to the majority at the time, and has occurred in small increments over decades.

Opposition has been demonized by persenting it as against stopping whatever evil our loss of liberty is supposed to curtail.

Had any ten years of slow changes been attempted at once, there would at least have been an outcry, but most who did complain were relegated to the 'paranoid', un-American, crackpot, or 'extremist' ranks and ignored.

My mother (I'm a great-grandpa) told me in the '60s this was coming, she saw the erosion of liberties I did not even remember, and that is how it is done. Three generations, taught ignorance of their rights, ignorance of the Constitution and founding documents/precepts, and the entire concept of Liberty is in the dustbin of history, edited from the pages in the State versions used in the indoctrination programs which used to be schools.

Perhaps after a period of servitude, the concepts will be rediscovered, and once again freedom will have meaning.

Otherwise, we'd all better get ourselves in gear and expose this crap for what it is--totalitarianism; which, by any more gentle name, still controls with an iron grip.
