Metmom, you said it wonderfully.
“It’s impossible to hurt yourself or die from pot.
But it’s not impossible for someone who is stoned to injure of kill someone else while they’re under the influence.
While it may not have the immediate drastic effects on one’s system that alcohol can, the effects that it can have on mental facilities is about the same.
I’ve seen well enough how people can act when they’re stoned and I wouldn’t want them driving in that condition or operating dangerous equipment or doing anything else that requires concentration, judgment, and quick decision making around me.
No man is an island. There’s no such thing as a victimless crime or activity. Libertarians are pretty big on personal freedom but pretty weak on the personal responsibility part, especially in regards with how their actions affect the other people they share this society with. “
It just KILLS me to see how vehemently pot smokers defend the stuff. “It’s harmless... Oh! -But kids shouldn’t smoke it!”
I’ve never known a pot smoker yet who ISN’T the person they once were -mentally. It’s a shame.
The people I’ve seen become potheads can only thing about where their next high is coming from, where their next drink is coming from, and when they’re going to get laid next.
Just because something doesn’t seem to harm you physically in direct obvious ways, like smoking and alcohol do, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t harm you in other ways. The physical is not all there is to in life.
