I understand that their heart is in the right place.

I am a firm believer that when you accept an animal into your home they must become a member of the family. They must be loved and cared for and not be subjected to harmful/disgusting living conditions.

My parrot, Buddy and cockatiel, Kiwi are looking over my shoulder as I type this. :0)

cats are in over population becuase of no kill animal pounds, and groups with government backing (local level) run cat rescues, and feral cat feedings. got so bad, that a private property owner out here was forced by law (threat of charge of animal cruelity ) if he prevented treaspass of the feral cat feeders on his own land!!!

one cat is too much if the owners let it roam, pee on cars, scratches on cars, poop all over neighbors lawns, even in fenced yards. out door cats are a puplic health hazard and can make great property damage. I had over $5000 in one instance with one cat.

any cat “lover’ that lets their putty cat roam on other folks property is not only not taking good care of the cat, they are also totally disresprctful of their nieghbors.

who’s cleaning up after your cat? I’d sure like to see the same laws applied to cats as dogs, no loose cats! a loose dog cant get into my fenced yard, but the loose cats get into everthing. leash your cat when out side! respect your nieghbors.

I absolutely agree about being a responsible pet owner, but I also understand how this could happen. People abandon cats in our neighborhood all the time and they come here looking for food and human companionship. They won’t just go away either. They camp out on my front porch so I can’t even let my kitty out or they fight. They are so loving and sweet, I just can’t be mean to them. We don’t have an animal shelter to take them to. We have a dog catcher that has been known to just kill the animals himself after he picks them up. It won’t do any good to report him to the sherrifs department. He works for them. So far I have been lucky about finding homes for the poor little abandoned ones but it is getting so hard.
