Awwwww, three aren't so bad! It's when there's more than five, I think that then there's a problem!
I would say it's like children: some people can take care of and give enough attention to a large number, while others do better with just a couple.
I know a lady that has 13 - and they are all very well taken care of. 10 are Silver Persians and 1 is a Golden - she spends 3 hours each morning grooming and cleaning up after them. They have a great sunroom/screened in porch where they can hang out when there's good weather.
On the other hand, many people have 1 cat and don't give it enough attention (or food - that why I have my 2 strays in the back yard!)

Persians are fairly docile cats and cooperative if you haven’t managed to offend their haughty sensibilities. Add to that, most long haired kitties have a decent appreciation for a good grooming, since it feels good to them, and they’d be a snap to care for.
We’ve got 4 kitties...2 tabby males and 2 long haired females...one believed to be part Maine Coon and the other is a Ragdoll mix.
