“What this piece of trash did is an abomination and is no different than some man seducing an underage girl.”
“It just shows how degenerate this country has become when even people masquerading as conservatives applaud pedophilia.”

I don’t applaud illegality, and certainly wouldn’t want anyone as reckless as this woman in my family. It cetainly seems appropriate to me for her to lose her teaching license.

However, according to the Judaeo-Christian tradition, on which may feel our nation is founded, you are in substance mistaken. According to the Bible boys become young men at age 13. Are you quite sure that God got it wrong? Whatever you might wish to call this illegal sexual activity between teacher and student, pedophilia is not the correct word.

I can remember well when I was that age, and sexual activity with a willing female was referred to, in sporting vernacular, as “scoring”. It’s not the sort of thing that is going to harm the psyche of a young man, unless of course an expensive team of psychologists brainwashes him to believe he’s a victim.

And furthermore, males and females are different. As the French would say, Vive le difference!

I suggest that you assume that our modern society, in which young adults after puberty are still considered children, is self-evidently wise and normal. I do not think that is true. The age of sexual consent in Vatican City is 12, and in Spain 13. Do you think they are all degenerate pedophiles? Or is it possible they know something we are desperate to deny.

There ought to be a “double standard” for the simple reason that the effects of having sex with an older person of the opposite sex are vastly different for boys and girls.

In the case of Ms. Feistel, I don’t know the woman and photographs can be misleading, but she seems reasonably attractive to me. I seriously doubt if the kid she “befriended” will be permanently harmed by her affection. If he is harmed, it will probably be by do-gooders who convince him that it’s his lot in life to be a “victim”.

Personally, I think the charges against her should be dismissed.
