See a gastroenterologist. Now. An exam with an endoscope is very fast and painless. I know. I had one this morning. The doctor found a small hiatal hernia and grade c esophagitis. He also stretched open a stricture where the esophagus leads into the stomach. But he found nothing suspicious that might suggest cancer. That’s a relief!
I’ll have special medication, but a lot of the treatment is just plain common sense. No smoking, cut way back on fried foods, no cola or caffeine drinks, eat several small meals daily and eat nothing after 6:00 PM. I’m supposed to elevate the head of my bed four inches, but I haven’t done that yet.
You’re right to worry about esophageal cancer. That’s why you should get your GERD under control now.
Thanks and thanks to all for all the great posts! I have read them all plus the emails. This is great info for all FR members. I love FR for the great info. I wish we had Sarah as President so this web site would be more social and less crisis reporting. Always great info from FR members. :-)
I will probably have the doc do both ends because they cancombine them.
Note to others as they get in their late 40s and 50. Colonoscopy. Very important and very treatable but most people do not check it. Colon cancer is a big killer and is easily caught and handled if you have it checked.
I am not for Hillarycare but this procedure saves a lot of lives. the way the teleprompter is spending money - the $900 for Hamas, $5 billion of the Obama Hitler youth & $30 + billion for free illegal healthcare would be better spent on coloscopies for Americans.
Thanks again.
