Pearl Harbor - stood for 2 hours fully exposed on the taxiway at Kanahoe Air station firing 30 and 50 MG. Was
wounded 24 times by bullets and shrapnel
If I'm correct, he resides in the "high desert" not too awful far from here. I knew Mitchell Paige (MOH, Guadalcanal) and he jokingly referred to our area as "The Valley of Heroes" - at the time, there were four or five surviving MOH recipients in the vicinity.
