Thanks for pointing that out. Thankfully, I haven't heard of too many of these incidences, but I can't imagine that the old boy would be back to peak performance. With the number of blood vessels that are severed, not to mention the nerve damage, it doesn't seem like it would ... not that I have any medical knowledge whatsoever.
No worries mate as our Aussie Friends say :-) Also, the article doesn't 'precisely' answer your question anyway...."stitched back together" , in lay parlance, doesn't necessarily need to mean "both complete parts were successfully rejoined". The reality of the matter could be quite a bit less.....this isn't exactly a 'technical' article and so the precision of the wording should not be taken with extreme trust.
