Well, to be fair, America has Square Dancing and Scandinavia has Polka’s. So, can’t claim the Irish have cornered the market when it comes to ridiculous dances.

Many times I get myself. It wasn’t until I reread my last post that the combo of “fetch” and “stick” struck. I’m a retired English teacher, and I “should know better.”

I don’t see step dancing as ridiculous. It’s folk and therefore eminently acceptable. “Folk art” is beyond criticism, and by that I mean that it is common, or
‘of the people.” It just “is.” Flay commercial art or music if you will. Fair enough...and in my opinion many times justified. Folk is immune. And, no, I am not a lib. I just like folk music. Of any stripe. I’m sorry if this sounds like a sermon. It isn’t supposed to. I’m just passionate about folk art.
