If this starts getting any worse, I’ll just order in bulk from Amazon every couple weeks and have groceries and household stuff delivered to my door.
I don’t know where you live, but where I am on the East Coast their is a service called Peapod that lets you go to their website, pick your groceries and they deliver them for a nominal fee. Meanwhile, the trunk of my car is FULL of reusable canvas bags from Giant, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and My Organic Market. And I have the summer designs and the fall/winter designs from each store. But I line them with large paper bags, which I demand from the pertinent store, so as to avoid them getting nasty. Go figure. This whole idea has the unmistakeable whiff of a 3rd grade class project.
