My gut tells me that he won’t be in the bottom 3. He’ll probably make the top 5.
Honestly, I really don’t care about his proclivities. I didn’t like his rendition of Ring of Fire, because it was so over-the-top “LOOK AT ME!!! AREN’T I DIFFERENT AND EDGY??” that it annoyed me.
But it seems like there are enough people who think it was brilliant that he’ll easily move on.
Notwithstanding that the guy is gay, he's young and you expect something edgy from younger people.
In past years, the judges have said "Make it your own." And get "outside the box."
I didn't like it, but I'm old and remember Cash as one of my favorites. Younger people may vote for him.
