Bizarre...Quentin as a mentor??? I know. From what I gather, Tarantino believes he's an expert on everything.
He was a guest judge back in Idol's second season. He sat at the judges' table that week, where Kara sits now. And IIRC, he rambled on more than she does.
Part of the reason he was there was to promote Kill Bill and he's got another movie coming out later this year called "Inglorious Basterds". It's like an ultra-violent Dirty Dozen with Brad Pitt playing the Lee Marvin-type role.

I did watch "Reservoir Dogs"" & Pulp Fiction" but waited for TV broadcast of them,LOL! I know I couldn't watch his films @ theater showings,yikes!
I don't have a desire to see anything else q t has done...thus far/at this genre juncture...
