My neighbor tells the story of years ago when she looked out in her backyard and saw a monkey with a parrot on its shoulder! A few good blinks, shake the head - look at her drink - they are still there! She said it was the craziest thing she had ever seen!
She called the police and they said that they had escaped from a traveling circus! They came out to try to catch them, but failed at first. She saw them again several days later - the parrot and monkey still together! Don’t recall what the end result was.

I heard about that. Somebody caught both animals, contacted the owner, who sold him the monkey because the monkey could talk.
Turned out, the parrot was a ventriloquist.
