Smoke Alarm

A smoke alarm most likely saved my life early this morning. I check the batteries on a regular basis and it is a good thing I do. It woke me in time. If you have a smoke alarm make sure it is working.

The suggestion is that every time you change the clocks you ought to replace the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm batteries.

We had a funeral recently.....and we were so exhausted my wife left a large pot of soup on...we didn't have a fire but it cooked down and the aluminum started to burn.
Thankfully, a friend staying here woke up.
The vapor / smoke off the pot was about 6 inches above my chest.
We were so Lucky, my wife says we have Angels.
But a few minutes more and the fire would not have killed us just the fumes.
All new smoke detectors now!
Always test them!

"Glad that you are ok. What happened?"A chimney fire. No great damage but my nerves are still a little rattled right now. The smoke alarm worked and I am a light sleeper. It could have worse.

I bought a smoke alarm about a year ago. Maybe I should take it out of the package and install it.

Good your smoke alarm did its job. While you are replacing them, install a carbon monoxide detector as well.
CO will not trigger a regular smoke alarm.
