Earlier this month, the Army War College has released a report entitled "Known Unknowns: Unconventional 'Strategic Shocks' in Defense Strategy Development," which details a number of unconventional events which could derail the new administration's security policy. Among the unforeseen events considered are the collapse of a strategically important country, massive internal disorders within the United States (perhaps brought on by economic collapse), and a China-Russia axis threatening important American economic interests.
