I lived through it so I know first hand what took place. I was armed and watching out for bands of looters. My home was in fact looted on multiple occasions when I wasn’t there. A truck with NG once stopped by and they never took away my guns. In fact they told me to watch out for NOLA cops who they said were unlawfully confiscating guns and unlawfully arresting homeowners.
There are a lot of blowhards on FR who never got closer to Katrina than watching CNN from their living room in the middle of Ohio, yet they think they know what happened. I can’t say that I know what took place on every block of the city, but I know what I saw with my own eyes.
