This post is weeks old, but what the heck, I'll respond anyway...

Never Give Up, Never Surrender. -Cpt. Taggert

**************************

You know, I *hated* that movie when it came out, because, well, it was making fun of my, well, epiphany. But it really grew on me.

Now, it is one of my favorites. Terribly under-rated, and screamed for a series of sequels.

I agree completely - they could've done an entire "new" Galaxy Quest series (as seen in the closing credits) spoofing many of the classic Trek plotlines. Hell, Futurama got plenty of mileage out of that. I think Tim Allen would've done sequels or even a series, but I'm not sure whether Alan Rickman or Sigourney Weaver would've wanted to become permanent Sci-Fi fixtures. Pity, too - both of them were extremely good in those roles.

I love the "...take a left, then straight on through the chompers." scene. Gwen says "Well *forget* that... THIS EPISODE WAS BADLY WRITTEN!", but when you watch closely, you see Sigourney's lips form a word somewhat shorter than "forget". Even if they chose to do an audio dub there to save time, the result is doubly entertaining.
