A phenomenal football player who’s talent is only eclipsed by his ego.
He gave the SF 49ers so much headache, especially to Steve Mariucci. Even though he was a good player then, The SF 49ers fans were glad to see him go.
As a Giants fan, I say...damn. First Pacman, now T.O. What’s Jerry Jones trying to do, get some team chemistry going or something?
And the Vikings screwed the pooch by letting Matt Birk go to the Ravens.
They should’ve released that choker Romo as well. Jessica Simpson must have a lot of pull..
In fairness, he used to live just around the corner from me. I’ve seen him plenty of times in person and at a few local watering holes. From what I’ve discerned, he’s an exceptionally polite young man - will always sign autographs for the kids and is very jocular. But, he’s poison in the locker room. Methinks he has some serious emotional baggage he’s never dealt with.
Cutting TO, signing Brooking from Atlanta. If Im not mistaken, it seems like Jerry realized the glitz formula doesnt work, and we need hard workers - like the Pats/Giants/Colts/Steelers/Titans.
I can only hope.
On a side not, I am extremely glad we did not try for Ray Lewis. Thats just another circus.
TO comeback to SF. I have heard rumors that all other teams have a player in a position called “wide receiver” No 49er fan has seen anyone play it on our team in a while.
It’s all been downhill for the Vikings since they left Newfoundland.
Didnt yall sign Isaac Bruce last year?
Besides, why need a WR when your TE is so reliable late in games :)
All kidding aside, I yearn for the glory days when the Boys and Niners battle it out for NFC supremecy. That was great football:
Aikman, Smith, Irvin, Novacek, Haley, Sanders, Woodson
Young, Rice, Stubblefield, Young, Haley, Sanders, Hanks
I’m not a sports nut, but it seems to me hearing about big names in several sports being let go that maybe the owners are trying to do a little downsizing themselves. :-)
They hold onto that dreadful coaching staff, while cutting the better players?
Hope and change?
Those were some great years, and great games. The Cowboys and 49ers were the superpowers of football for 4 years.
No one can ever forget “The Catch” by Dwight Clark. That was the beginning of the 49ers supremacy over the Cowboys.
Until the early 90s. :p
They need a placeholder until Michael Vick is available.
