I have personal experience with the Missouri Valley Human Resources Development Agency (Lafayette County). When I separated from the Air Force, they hired me as a “Manpower Trainer,” and paid me with funds from the Department of Labor, Manpower Planning . . .
I was 23 years old at the time, didn't realize the wastefulness of these agencies and programs. I did fully realize it within nine months and resigned. To remain on staff I was told that I had to be a ready supporter of all of the agency’s programs. When I looked over all of the programs (ALL federally funded), it made me sick to my stomach -— especially the personnel and programs involved with “family planning.” My conscience would not allow me remain with that agency.
I went from their to repairing houses — self-employed.
Great story. Glad you have a conscience. We sure need more like you.
