try going to Project Gutenberg and also The Classic Reader Library.

good recommendation.

For those who like Science Fiction, Baen.com has a ton of books available on the Free Library.

I always give them a plug, because I like companies that recognise their customers are not thieves.

Ditto on the Free Library, though I'm also a monthly subscriber as well, six books for the price of a paperback, DRM free so I can read it on anything, pre-made into formats compatible with any reader or even just pure HTML. Highly recommend them, if you like SciFi.

I found that one ages ago and sucked down every download they offered. Some good...some crap. All of them can be downloaded in Microsoft Reader or zip format (which can be read and reformatted by YBook Reader and made to look like a real book.

Kewl!...I have a bunch of Baen paperbacks in boxes in the basement...from the 70s, 80s, maybe early 90s...haven’t been reading SF for years...or much fiction...or non-fiction, just work related stuff and Intratubes timewasting stuff...
