RNC Fundraising calls.

We have been called numerous times over the last week from the RNC and the state Republicans both asking us for money. We refuse to give them any more money until they turn around and 'get right.' The callers sure are persistent, though, and talk right through my 'no'!

Anyone else coming up against this?

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: donations; fundraising; rnc

I get at least one a day, I usually hang up as soon as I figure out who it is. From what I’ve heard, they are getting ten times plus more hang-ups as they used to..

This is my email response to an email fund raising effort yesterday:

Mr. Steele,

You took it upon yourself to go on the D.L. Hughley show on CNN. The man is a flaming liberal. I do not know which demographic group you thought you might reach, but your comments about Rush Limbaugh, one of the most notable persons of conservative thought in this country, certainly reached the conservative base of the GOP.

I will not support the GOP again until it stops attempting to be a big tent party. The GOP is the CONSERVATIVE PARTY and is not the place for moderates or liberals.

You are a part of the leadership of the GOP that thinks the party has to swing to the center in order to win elections. The GOP has lost the last two elections precisely because it went to the center. If you want to win, the GOP must move to the right.

I told them to take me off their calling list. The caller was very professional about it. Perhaps that is a trend they’ll notice.

The RNC/GOP had a huge small donor base until they destroyed it with Juan McCain and Jorge Bush pushing amnesty. I gave in 2008 to try help Palin and a few key anti-illegal immigration Repubs like Lou Barletta.

State of FL GOP? Never after Charlie Crist made sure McCain beat Mitt which clinched it for Juan. Mitt is far from perfect but Juan McCain is far far worse. Crist, Mccain, Lindsay Graham, Mel Martinez - all RINOs.

I am getting e-mails from Steele and McCain.
I have received calls from the Maine GOP and yesterday
received a very nice membership card with my very own name on it.
Sometime over the next few days I will be sending the card back; it will be cut up in little pieces.

I will tell them I only support conservative candidates. I will also tell them in a nice way that they have a lot of nerve asking me for money when Collins and Snow just supported giving millions of dollars to ACORN and groups like it. Groups who detest America, capitalism, and the Republican Party.
My final recommendation-convene the Executive Committee and demand that Snow resign from the party.

Just sent a request for funds form back to them in their postage paid envelope with a note “Specter, Snowe, Collins = no money from me” scribbled on the form......

Yes, I just hang up on them. I don’t need to listen to someone who hasn’t listened to me!

I told them I had already sent my money to Jim DeMint because I knew it would be going to a conservative ... I’m on a limited (retirement) budget that has lost half its buying power in the past 6 months, so I have to make sure every penny counts ... ie “hey Lindsey and the rest of you RINOs, you ain’t gettin’ a dime!”

I think Steele did get it that he had to apologize to Rush but I still don’t think he gets it that the Republican base, as Rush puts it, are just as intelligent and sophisticated as the Beltway boys and girls.

The greatest misconception of Rush is that his 20m listeners consist of mind-numbed dittoheads that await his words and marching orders. The truth is the complete opposite. The reason Rush keeps his audience is that he treats them with respect, he never talks down to it and he tells it straight without any elitist bafflegab or obfuscation.

The RNC has taken my vote for granted one too many times. I vote my beliefs that are CONSERVATIVE. I’m not a pragmatist, I’m not easily smooshed, I’m as hardnosed as they are wussies.

Rush raked Steele over the coals like he needed to be.

My interpretation of what he said was “Lead, or follow me, but get the F*** out of my way!!!

No pragmatism in that statement to me at all.

Rush gives me a voice that I will always support. The RNC has rejected me...DITTO!

Haven't had any fund raising calls yet but I'm sure they will come.

I was notified, that at the county level, we have a mandatory meeting to elect officers this coming Saturday. Will attend the meeting but unless I hear some tough answers to some tough questions, I am going to ask, they will more than likely get my resignation. To h@%l with the mediocre performance by the local Republican Party. Have put up with it for years and I don't like being on the losing end year after year. I want to hear of plans to raise money to be competitive again and how we are going to loosen a few pit bulls on the local Democrats who have had a monopoly on every office in the county for as long as I can remember.. We can win if we would only draw back into the party structure some of the Independents who have left the party but still vote for good Republican candidates. We need manpower, funds and candidates to ever gain parity again. We can never do that with so few active members. We lost this county over 20 years ago when they elected an idiot chairman who did not want to confront Democrats because it might cost him by not getting contracts. He disbanded the young Republicans group and we haven't been able bring it back because of the present weak Chairman. You can't grow a political party without new blood. There is still hope if we get our act together because Obama lost this county where Democrats are 5 to 1 in registration.

Give to the National Republican Trust, they are recruiting AGAINST the 3 Senate Rino’s!

They are not controlled by the RNC in any way.

I received a mailer from the RNC on Monday.

Wrote back in the pre-paid envelope (w/o any contribution of course) that Mr. Steele can go to hell for ripping on Rush like he did.

Won’t do any good though.

You are right, Kansas 58. The Republican National Trust is the organization that will fight for Conservatives. They aren’t afraid of repercussions. And ourcountrydeservesbetter.com is another reputable website. They did some pretty damning Obumble ads during the campaign. Oh, but that they would have succeeded but alas, who had a chance against the Obamatons and The media darling, The Annointed One?
Well, the times, they might be a changin! Hold tight and pray....

I don’t have a house phone anymore (for quite some time now) and no one has called my cell that I know of (of course I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t know).
