What a lovely story yorkie! I, too, collect nests. We have Cardinals who build a nest each year in the same small tree. Since they never ‘re-use’ them I save them and have them around on my patio.

I used to throw out small pieces of colored yarn and they would pick them up for their nests!

Thank you, Potlatch! Every species builds an entirely different nest. It is amazing how intricate each one is, in it’s own way.

The hummingbird nest is not much bigger than a teaspoon and is softer than a cottonball.

A friend was here from Hawaii, and spent hours looking in every little branch and limb, for a hummingbird nest. She never found one. I’ve only found two - and she got one of them to take home with her. (smile)

You are the the only person I know, that also collects nests.
