Many family ranchers are low profit , high expense operations.

After bank loans on buildings, equipment, feed, livestock, taxes, utilities...there is not always a profit.

The Sierra Club ecos know this. They try to run the expenses up ( like getting their pals to vacate the federal grazing allotments ) to force the homestead into ruin.

Then Hollywood celebs like Ted Turner can buy the place at foreclosure cheap. Later building an eco-lodge for his pals.

I know. I have nothing but admiration and respect, particularly in today’s climate, for the farmers and ranchers who still try to make a decent living in an honest occupation. And the Sierra Club goofs and so on, while meaning well, are the typical city folks who know nothing about animals or wildlife, really, and how everything works together. I have a friend who is a total nutter about the deer. They cause a lot of damage in the county in which I live - lives are even lost, but Bambi is so much more valuable than people, doncha know?
