Hey, this is a family site. Let’s have none of those dirty pictures.

The farther away from reality it is, the more liberals like it.

Beautiful work. What art mediums does your wife use?

The black man is oil, the ballerina is acrylic on sandpaper, and the boy is pencil. She likes oil the best, but does a lot of nupastel because it takes the least amount of time.

I think it would be very interesting to see how the great painters of the past would react to photoshop. I suspect they would be astounded by the ability to create limitless colors, alter colors and shadows, remove or replace shades of colors etc.

Photoshop, it’s not all funny political pictures.

Far too representational and meaningful to merit any attention by the fine arts community.

On the other hand, for us commoners, they're beautiful.

My compliments to her!!! She is very gifted. Impressive that she works in many different mediums.

I was alittle surprised at how hard it is to create a halfway realistic starfield for sci fi type art. I eventually stumbled across this tutorial (tutorials are great) for creating one of the best starfields i've seen.

There are some really interesting texuring effects that you can do with photographs as well. This is one of the first I did with a stone texture effect so it's got plenty of flaws but I like it anyway. Art is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm more a fan of the Old Masters:

I’ll pass on the compliment. Artists never like her work. We tried getting her in a couple of galleries, but were met with underwhelming, “oh, that’s nice” comments.

Thank you! I should also mention that she sculpts just as well too, but it’s a lot more expensive to cast. We have been married three years now, and I’m convinced that she has a gift to “see” how to represent things. Her portraits from middle school are better than a lot of professionals. Unfortunately we haven’t found a way for her to make money with art!

The best thing is that she is conservative and can make fun of garbage art with me. She never tells people that she’s an artist, especially not other artists, because people associate artists with liberal blowhards who will paint a blue square on a canvas and call it the Sistine Chapel.

“everything looked like it was painted (and sometimes fingerpainted) by an angry monkey.”

Probably the same monkey that wrote the “stimulus” bill.
