Excellent read and spot on! Thank you Dirk for speaking up for guys like me; I though I was alone in all this. Movies with wimpy men and strong women do absolutely nothing for me, so I believe they do not make movies for men anymore.
The absolute strength and righteousness of movie-portrayed women and the testosterone-deprived men depicted in todays movies are a complete turn-off. I really do wonder how real women feel. Do you like men like this?

Give me a Jason Bourne, or the old James Bond or Harry Callahan anyday!

BTW, I had not been a big fan of the original BG as it was the "early" days of TV trying to do what they did on the big screen as far as special effects go, and it wasn't working; today they do a much better job of it ("24" anyone?).
So, I thought, when the new series came out, it would be better, as the idea of a lost society cruising around space looking for Earth was a neat idea, I thought I'd check up on it.
Whoa! First thing I noticed was a female Starbuck, and a swashbuckler at that, even more so than they let Dirk be one! Oh! So it's OK for a female to parade around like their full of it, but not a guy? Too un-PC, huh?
Quick, total turn-off, and after five minutes, I've never seen any part of it again and hoped it would die a quick and painful (yes, painful) death!
