Former President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura W. Bush made a surprise visit to their neighborhood school, Dallas ISD's John J. Pershing Elementary Wednesday morning.

Mr. Bush visited every classroom at the school and stayed for more than an hour.

"He and Mrs. Bush were very warm and inviting and they stopped and acknowledged every person in the school," said Pershing principal Margarita Hernandez. "This is an experience that our children will never forget. President Bush made several students pledge and commit themselves to read more instead of watching TV. He told students that reading is the key to everything, including to being president."

This past school year, the school received a Recognized ranking from the Texas Education Agency.

You are beating a dead horse. If you truly were concerned with the fates of Ramos and Campeon you wouldn’t give GW Bush a second look. He no longer has any power. To do ANYTHING!!! Get it? Stop hammerin the idea! We Know! You continue to kick a dead dog and some of us are sick of lookin at it! Do something positive! What you are doing, blaming and bashing GW Bush, changes nothing for anyone, ‘cept maybe you.

Every major city in this country has the same problem. But if they are not the border you don’t care. Been going on up here for years. AND NO, I did not vote for these fools!

I don’t give a rats ass about your opinion when you automatically call me stupid because I don’t live in Texas! I’m well aware of the problem on the border. Make a smart argument, then we’ll talk. Ramos and Compeone were on my radar. That’s not what the whole damned thread was about. That’s what made it SNARKY!!!!! Do not presume to lecture me about the country, it’s policies nor a president thereof! Do not presume that you can cower me because you live under the scourge of the Mexican border! You dont’ like it! Do something about it or move damn it! Don’t lecture me on policy nor Presidents, I’m a little busy right now raising a family and supporting a husband who isn’t here right now!
