I am sick of Golf Channel 24x7 fawning over him but GC is owned by Disney who fawn over Tiger’s pal Obama.

He has brought more money and exposure to golf but he is not the messiah. As far as the best ever - maybe but Jack in his prime was very very good. Padraig at the British Open last year was possibly some of the best golf I ever witnessed in terrible conditions.

You’re making the “it didn’t help Barry Bonds hit a 90 mph fastball argument”. It doesn’t fly.

He went from super beanpole to thick monster, he changed his frame almost as much as Bonds did. He didn’t just “fill out”.

As for the “steady mind”, Bonds mind was “steady” enough to hit 73 homers, McGwire’s “steady” enough for 70, etc. and the balls they were hitting were 90 miles per hour, not stationary on a tee.

I am also disappointed in his appearance at Obamapalooza

Send your complaints to Buick, Nike and the tons of other product manufacturers he endorses. A minute speech by invitation of the President of the United States given on our military is a hell of a lot better than reading the following front page headlines in some newpaper rag:

"Tiger Woods Turns Down Invitation from White House to Speak at Inauguration Citing Political Reasons".

No matter what he does, somebody is going to find fault with him. I cite the incident where Golf Channel anchor Kelly Tilghman apologized after saying during a telecast of the PGA Tour's opening event that today's young players should "lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley,".

While Tiger took the high road and said it was a non-issue, some black jerk on ESPN was pissed that Tiger didn't make an issue of it and Al Sharpton said that Kelly should be immediately fired.

Here's the statement from Wood's agent, Mark Steinberg: "This story is a non-issue," Steinberg said, according to AFP. "Tiger and Kelly are friends and Tiger has a great deal of respect for Kelly. Regardless of the choice of words used we know unequivocally that there was no ill-intent in her comments."

With all that being said, somebody tomorrow will be deeply saddened to hear that Tiger Woods would rather eat bacon and eggs for breakfast rather than Wheaties......

Tiger Woods Learning Center

Thats the problem with being one of the best in the world at your trade. There is always some nobody, somewhere, who gets a perverted and almost sadistic sense of happiness when they see you fail rather than look at all the good you have done for the world.........

the big problem with that story was that 20-25 pounds of those muscle were added in about a year.

That's absolutely nonsense and nothing more than heresay pepetrated by petty people who just plain don't like Tiger Woods.

Adding 30 lbs. of weight over 10 years is nothing for a once skinny athletic kid who enters into a regimented weight and diet routine. There are absolutely no pictures, including one on this thread (not the one I posted) that would indicate he is over developed due to steroid abuse..............The kid is only 35 years old and at the peak of his health. He SHOULD look like that....

If there are any pictures around that should detract from Tiger Woods' accomplishments, they're the ones that say he should start doing more sit-ups and crunches.........

____________

Really???? It seemed LOTS of people noticed all of a sudden that he turned into Hercules, not over 10 years, and it’s more like 35-40 pounds of muscle over 10 years, with the bulk of it during his “secret” workout sessions.

It DIDN’T happen gradually, that’s the whole point and that’s why people started talking.

It happened around 2006, 2007. We heard about all these “secret” workout routines which were a closely guarded secret, as if he’s doing something new with weights that only NASA could understand. We ALSO heard from TIGER that he ALWAYS lifted weights.

You just don’t add that much mass, that fast, I’ve been reading for 30 years in the newspapers how such and such football player was “really dedicated” in the offseason and added 20-30 pounds of pure muscle. The human body can’t do that without drugs, sorry. Tiger’s gains happened VERY quickly, he went from the baggiest shirts on tour to the tightest. He has the rounded biceps and shoulders of a user.

Were we all just blind?? No, we watched the guy since he was an amateur, this wasn’t gradual, this was an explosion.

Look at him right now in that new commercial walking into the clubhouse, the dude is THICK across the back and shoulders like a football player now, he was a beanpole with clothes hanger shoulders. He’s altered his body radically. RIGHT NOW with that thick body of his he’s claiming 7% body fat at 33 years old.

In 1996 he was 6 foot 2 165 pounds. If he’s under 200 pounds with that new frame I will eat Helen Thomas’ week old bloomers. Looking more like 215-220 easy to me. Dude’s a monster, and never had the frame to be a monster.

PGA Tour is listing Tiger as 6 foot 1, 185 pounds right now....sssssuuuuuurrreee he is. I’ll give him 25K for every pound he is under 190 if he gives me 5K for every pound he is over 185, his “listed” weight. He shrunk too, by his own admission he was 6-2 165 in 1996, his first year on tour.

Read much genius?, I was talking about NFL players BRAGGING about gaining 20-30 pounds of solid muscle in the off-season. You think Tiger Woods weighs 185?

he turned into Hercules

Hercules?? HaHaHaHa......Here's an article that claime he bulked up 45 pounds!

Tiger Beefs up 45 pounds! LOL!

The fact that you "lift weights" doesn't mean squat to me or anyone else. I'm 58, 5'5, 140 lbs. After a daily workout I look "ripped" but the fact is that I've only gained 11 lbs. since I was discharged from the Army in 1972..........and if you were to compare a photo of me in the Army prior to discharge at approx. 129 lbs. and what I look like today you would also swear I was on steroids.....

On my homepage I am on the bottom, second from the left with the sunglasses and shorts........un-pumped.

Its too bad that this thread has been hijacked by you and others and turned into a "Tiger Woods on Steroids" thread...........

yes, I do read and the following is what you posted about Tiger.....LOL. short term memory loss is ok

the big problem with that story was that 20-25 pounds of those muscle were added in about a year.

Don't yell at me dude, you said it.......LOL!

And furthermore dude, since you are the resident expert on steroid use, what are the residual effects of steroids after they are discontinued? Since you claim that Woods used such steroids in his 20's to increase his weight by 20 - 30 pounds in one year, does your claim also imply that he has continued such use? And if so, why hasn't his body weight and muscular development continued proportionately to his alleged steroid abuse over these last 8 - 10 years ?

Are you aware that once steroids are discontinued that the muscles begin to atrophy....aka. shrink? And that any artificially induced strength due to steroid use is eliminated also?

You have alleged that steroid abuse contributed to the 20 - 30 lb. weight gain years ago in his career but yet you can't substantiate what has happened to the lack of muscular gain over these past few years. Since I have already explained what happens when steroids are discontinued, then the only logical explanation as to why Tiger Woods is winning tournaments is due to skill only................

But when Tiger Woods put on 45 pounds of muscle he was praised for his work ethic in the gym.

____________

The article seems to be making my point not yours. It’s certainly a LOT more than the 20 pounds from 1996 to his 185 “official” weight at PGA tour.com. No way in hell he weighs 185.

I know the difference between being ripped and slabbed on artificial chemically enhanced muscle, this seems to be where you’re lacking. It would be a miracle if Tiger DIDN’T use.

Look at you, you only put on 11 pounds when you “filled out” if you used drugs you could have put on another 25-30 pounds of muscle, you keep making my points for me.

I was told I was “crazy” etc. when I said in 98 that McGwire and Sosa were jokes, total juicers. I’ve even had to argue with a couple of Bonds homers here on FR. I always believed A-Rod used but we would never find out about it, same as Tiger. A-Rod is out of the closet. I hope someday we’ll find out the truth about Tiger. Don’t think for a second that this is some wild position, plenty of people with lots of knowledge see a lot of red flags in Tiger.

You don’t know as much as you think, all of these drugs can be cycled pretty safely with no worries about detection. All testing is a joke. You can maintain a lot of your gains even if you stop, it’s much harder though. Start again a couple of cycles later to get to where you want to be. It’s big money science, these guys know exactly what they’re doing. HGH is undetectable basically, no worries there.

Tiger looks very thick to me right now, thickly muscled. Hank Haney claimed a couple of weeks ago that Tiger was at 7% body fat. That’s actually a stupid thing to brag about if you want people to believe you’re natural, at 33 years old no less coming off knee surgery where you couldn’t do much cardio for a while.

He was so freaking jacked at like the 2007 U.S. Open that everyone started to talk, they were talking before that, too.

I have no idea what you’re LOL’ing about, I’m consistent that he was LYING about only adding 20 pounds of muscle, it’s more like 45-50 and he did have a huge jump in one year that looked like 20-25 pounds of slabbed muscle in less than a year, not TEN years like you claimed. Everyone started talking, he backed off a bit it looked a little less monstrous or obvious, however you want to interpret it.

There’s a difference between use and abuse, and you don’t alternately turn into popeye and back to a string bean.

I can show you guys who haven’t used for years that still look like monsters because they still train hard. You and many others seem to have this one size fits all everybody is going to look like Arnold, etc. understanding. There’s tons of different drugs used in combinations to get the desired results for your sport.

Oh stop with your useless arguments man.........

First of all, steroid use does not reduce body fat since that appears to be the argument you are now trying to make. In fact, YOU have already stated that steroid use adds weight and mass.

Second of all, have you any idea what the typical rehab for knee surgery is let alone the schedule for an elite athlete such as Tiger Woods? What do you think his aerobic schedule has been for the past "SIX" months following his first 2 months of critical rehab therapy?

His alleged 7% body fat evaluation doesn't mean anything and I suspect that it is just an exaggeration by the individual who made the statement.............

My body fat probably runs about 17% but I can guarantee you that I could reduce it to 7% within two weeks if there was a need to do so.

Tomorrow I'll be rooting for McILroy over Oglivy, O'Hair over Casey, Leonard over Fisher, and .....Els/Cink is a tossup.

McILroy is the best young golfer I've seen since Tiger in the mid-90s. And he's better now (at 19) than Tiger was at the same age.

Steroids ABSOLUTELY reduce body fat, you’re just making things up and talking out of school.

I’ve re-habbed 3 knee surgeries, one total re-construction and 2 scopes, I re-habbed them just like Tiger did, like a freaking mad-man. I’m just a garden variety scratch/better than scratch golfer. I wish I started playing at 3 like him instead of 33.

You’re 58 years old and can take your body fat in TWO WEEKS from 17% to 7%?? LOLOLOLOL, thanks, you made my night. 17 is great for your age, but I could put you on every illegal drug in the world and not get your body fat to 7% in 2 weeks. Bodybuilders ready for a meet are at like 3% body fat, and that’s with drugs that take them to near death hydration levels, the chances of you getting to 7% in 2 weeks are, well, infinity, times two, I did really LOL though.

You should do a little googling, you seem like a great guy, but you have no idea what you’re talking about here.

Hey there!!

Been stupid busy at work today, so much so I just found out who won!!!I was going to be at the Tea Party in town but something came up at the last minute at work and it’s been nonstop since......

So for the final 8 we have.......

MCLLROY vs. OGILVY(7:20AM/MST)—I like Rory. Mad game and if comes and plays on this side of the Atlantic he could be the one to go at Tiger.

ELS vs. CINK(7:32AM/MST)-—Ernie is playing great golf and would be happy if he wins, but Stew is a match play witch and will go at it strong!!!

O’HAIR vs. CASEY(7:44AM/MST)-—So is it the time for Sean to play his way into the young stud group, or does he stay on the fringes and has moments like this? Same situation can be made with Paul too.

LEONARD vs. FISHER(7:56AM/MST)-—On the basis of that GREAT Nike commercial, GO JUSTIN!!!!

BTW, WTH is up with the tee times so early? Weather or TV???

And a simple request for some on this thread... Enough of laying into Tiger and the unfounded accusations of steroids, OK???

I set this thread up for chat on the event, not for BS AND CRAP. Some of us get it(thanks guys). And others.........

I’ll try not to be an absentee host tomorrow. I think coverage on TGC starts at 10AM/EST!!
