Block just one Caucus?
DannyTN | 02/25/2008 | DannyTN

Is there a way to see everything except one Caucus.

Like for example the LDL Caucus. I can't reply and refute those articles, so I don't even want to see them. To me they are just propaganda that makes the FR experience much less enjoyable.

Hey! I happen to like Spurgeon’s Daily Devotionals!

I’m going to ask John Robinson if there’s a way we can FORCE you to click on them whether you like them or not!

:-P

As many LDS threads get started on here it’s a lot like SPAM.

Not exactly SPAM as it doesn't fall into the definition of unsolicited.. of course, Catholics could say the same about Anglican Caucus threads, Anglicans about Baptist caucus, Baptists about Methodist caucus, Methodist about Presbyterian caucus, Presbyterian about Jewish caucus, Jewish about the Greek Orthodox caucus, Atheists about any religion caucus, and so on and so on and so on....

Absolutely they could. And some might very well want to block some caucuses like I do.

As for me, I'm interested in what is going on in those Caucuses. And the Athiests if they have a caucus aren't posting enough articles to be annoying. I think they post as evolutionists and don't use the caucus format, so that debate is encouraged.

Our dear, departed Coyoteman’s abortive attempt at a Theory Of Evolution Caucus didn’t last long.

Too bad, maybe there needs to be a Theistic Evolution caucus for those who don’t see a conflict between God and science.

If it makes you feel better, if Hindu’s were using the Caucus format as much as LDS, I’d want to block them too.

There’s a Creation Devotional somewhat-daily. Why not post a Theistic Evolution Devotional?

Not voluntarily. He tried to create a Caucus thread for ToE, as I mentioned. He got nasty when nobody would abide by his desire that evolution be treated like a religion, JR got involved, he popped off at JR, and JR banned him.

I may FReepmail the Religion Mod about it... the problem is there are some here who claim anything that doesn’t support young earth is ‘atheism’ and doesn’t belong in religion.

I just Googled his name, you are right, doesn’t look like he was banned for being an evolutionist, he was a nasty piece of work in how he treated others.

'caucus' thread in which you are not part of the caucus, that person can just start an open thread on the subject.

Can they really?

He was trying to get banned by FR anyway. It earned him a “laurel wreath” over at his precious Darwin Central. He was trolling, in other words.

It would have the same guidelines as any other devotional post, but it seems to me that those with different perspectives would just ignore it. I don’t read devotionals or caucus threads from points of view I consider uninteresting ... but I’m also not upset by the fact that they’re posted.

... when nobody would abide by his desire that evolution be treated like a religion,

Which is interesting, because creationists often point out that Darwinism is a religion.

For all his self assumed intelligence, I somehow doubt he recognized the irony.
