Hmmm the scientist/medical world does not understand something and then they call the patient delusional

Had that happen when I was young being called delusional....ended up the illness was a severe case of Graves disease.

The treatment keeps one alive but not fun to deal with living on sythetic thyroid meds and no actual gland.

I knew another woman who was actually commmitted to a mental institution untill someone got clued in that she had Graves.

My mother has Graves disease.

For her it causes a blistering and oozing rash. It is *very* painful and debilitating. Thankfully, they now have a diagnosis and when she has outbreaks the treatment seems effective. It takes more than a week to clear up.

Yep! And...Her condition was considered “psychological” as well.
