I’d also point out that Bond is another MOVIE character. I’ve read most of the books, but I haven’t met anyone else who has.

Nice to meet you. I read the majority of the Bond books as a teenager, and the rest later on. (IIRC, the paperbacks cost less than a buck). Fleming's Bond was completely different than Sean Connery (the ultimate movie Bond).

I would disagree. Bond novels were huge in the early 60’s , which spawned the first one, DR. NO.
Bond was a product of the 50’s soviet scare and the cold war.I actually have the entire James Bond collection , 1st 2nd and 3rd prints and the entire series from the early 60’s in paperback.
