Women deny it and explain it with euphemisms and semantic dodges, but they truth is that many (and not just "some" as Dear Abby assures us often) prefer abusers to nice guys. Recall the Oakland case a year or two ago of the chick who was beaten to death by a brute in his basement torture chamber that she had visited repeatedly!

“Many” women most certainly do NOT prefer to be beaten, just because you bring up one nut case in Oakland (hardly a bastion of sanity) does not make it so.
