Giggle.
I have given up beer for the time being.
Cheap beer. ugh.
Just last night I was watching Mad Money and my roommate commented that he wondered how the host was staying so calm. I said he takes a lot of xanax, but that soon we’ll see him all crazy, dirty and homeless-looking pointing at charts that are about the price of Old English 40-ouncers. He’ll be telling us where to get the cheapest party liquor with our Barakutopia vouchers.
Dude..after the first case..it all tastes the same..
If you have the time and patience, make your own beer. Tastes pretty good, and not a single cent in taxes goes to the Feds.
lol. glad I don’t drink
“Cheap beer. ugh.”
There was an interesting article in (of all places) the Mensa members’ magazine a few months ago.
A college student had done a test to determine if advertising affected which beers tasted the best. He assembled a range of beers (from heavily advertised ones line Bud to non-advertised discount beers.)
For the first part of the test he allowed everyone to see the beer they were drinking. The more heavily advertised beers were rated the highest, and the least advertised beers rated the lowest.
He blindfolded everyone for the second part of the test. As you might expect, the order wasn’t the same, but what was interesting was THE ORDER WAS ALMOST FLIPPED UPDSIDE DOWN. The least advertised beers scored more better in the blind taste test, and the heavily advertised beers scored in the bottom of the blind taste test.
The funniest item was a girl said “how am I supposed to know which beer tastes the best if I don’t know what brand I’m drinking?”
I second that! I'll continue to drink Sam Adams, Stella Artois, Pilsner Urquell and Becks, just less of them, LOL!
Miller? Bud? Pabst? Blech!! (though I will support Bud over Miller, if for no other reason than their politics!)
for the daytona 500 last weekend i went to my local bar and had $2 cans of busch all day. it was great. made a nice little pyramid.
My discount grocer gets unadvertised, unknown beer brands from all over the planet, including Down Under, Deutschland, Nicaragua, Peru, selling them for $3.99 - $4.99 a sixpack. Some are veddy, veddy gut! Beat that!
Ping to #15.
